Final Illusion is a research fiction and illusion multimedia franchise created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, and developed and managed by Square Enix (formerly Square). The franchise centers around some fantasy and knowledge fantasy role-playing video gaming (RPGs). The eponymous first game in the series, publicized in 1987, was conceived by Sakaguchi as his last-ditch work in the overall game industry; the name was successful and spawned sequels.
