Final Illusion is a technology fiction and dream marketing franchise created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, and developed and owned or operated by Square Enix (formerly Square). The franchise centers around some fantasy and knowledge fantasy role-playing video gaming (RPGs). The eponymous first game in the series, released in 1987, was conceived by Sakaguchi as his last-ditch work in the overall game industry; the name was successful and spawned sequels. The gaming series has since branched into other styles such as tactical role-playing, action role-playing, massively multiplayer online role-playing, race, third-person shooter, fighting with each other, and tempo. The franchise in addition has branched out into other mass media, including CGI motion pictures, anime, manga, and books.
Although most Last Dream installments are stand-alone reviews with different options and main heroes, they feature similar elements define the franchise. Continuing elements include storyline themes, character titles, and game technicians. Plots focus on several heroes fighting a great bad while checking out the character types' internal battles and relationships.
